05d. Receiving a Messenger
Understanding the Messenger as the recipient.
Recipient Email:
The recipient of a Messenger gets an email with a link to the Messenger. The email also contains the expiration date, a message from the sender (if supplied), and the sender’s contact info.
Making an Edit:
The easiest way to mark select levels on a Messenger is to click ‘Single’ in the top right corner to enter single image view. Selects can be made by clicking on the row of buttons above the image. Once a level has been chosen, it will be reflected in the row of thumbnails at the bottom of the page and the next image will appear. To skip an image, click ‘Clear’ or ‘Next’ above the image. There are keyboard shortcuts that will speed up editing significantly: the left and right arrow keys can be used to navigate, and there are number keys that correspond to the select levels, 1=1st, 2=2nd, 3=Kill, 4=Clear.
There is no need to ’save’ an edit. Edits are saved as you go along, but it can be helpful to send a response to let the sender know you have finished (see below).
More Actions:
Respond allows you to type a brief message to the person who sent you the Messenger.
Some Messengers allow additional Actions, such as Print Proofsheet and Download. Clicking on ‘Help’ will explain how those features work.
